Aristotle

Aristotle was born in 384 BC and died in 322 BC. He was a Greek philosopher Aristotle believed that there were 6 elements of drama. These are:
1)      Plot
2)      Character
3)      Theme
4)      Diction
5)      Music
6)      Spectacle
Aristotle believed Plot was the most important element in story-telling. But some people argue that Character is the most important element in story-telling.
There are 7 plot types. And almost every movie that has been written will have one of the seven plot types in them. The 7 plot types are:
1)      The Quest
2)      Voyage and Return
3)      Rebirth
4)      Comedy
5)      Tragedy
6)      Overcoming the Monster
7)      Rags to Riches

I will be talking about The Lord of The Rings (movie) and King Lear (play). While talking about them I will also be discussing Plot and Character.

In Lord of The Rings, the plot type would be The Quest,
In my opinion, the Character is more important than the Plot, simply because in this film, the Characters decisions help to write the Plot and make it what it is.

In King Lear, the Plot type would be classified as a Tragedy. The plot has sub-plots, which come alive at the end and the most of the characters get what they deserved.
