My Favourite Blog

My favourite blog is by the Swedish singer for the band Nightwish, Anette Olzon. I like this blog because I am a fan of Nightwish.
She talks about her day, and posts pictures of herself wearing different outfits for different concerts and talks about her training and different aspects of the day. It is personal and reaches out for her fans, who want to know more about her and her personal life. There is also videos of her favourite songs and her favourite videos that her fans took in concert. She posts nearly everyday, sometimes twice a day. I like the content because it is easy to read and is interesting.
Her blog is purple in colour and contains her logo for her name and a picture of her and her logo as the banner. In my opinion, the purple colour reflects her personality and the genre of her music. In the background the purple contains a marble effect and darkens as it fades out.
On the side bar there is links to the bands official website, and her personal website. It is handy because in one click you can check tour dates etc..
There are also advertisements under the links. This is because she has a certain amount of visitors on her page per day.
It is easy to follow as it goes down in a linear fashion. Her latest posts are displayed at the top of the page. There is also a navigation bar, so you can look through her previous posts throughout the years.
One way to improve it is to have other links to different things that she finds interesting.
Here is a link to her blog:

Aristotle

Aristotle was born in 384 BC and died in 322 BC. He was a Greek philosopher Aristotle believed that there were 6 elements of drama. These are:
1)      Plot
2)      Character
3)      Theme
4)      Diction
5)      Music
6)      Spectacle
Aristotle believed Plot was the most important element in story-telling. But some people argue that Character is the most important element in story-telling.
There are 7 plot types. And almost every movie that has been written will have one of the seven plot types in them. The 7 plot types are:
1)      The Quest
2)      Voyage and Return
3)      Rebirth
4)      Comedy
5)      Tragedy
6)      Overcoming the Monster
7)      Rags to Riches

I will be talking about The Lord of The Rings (movie) and King Lear (play). While talking about them I will also be discussing Plot and Character.

In Lord of The Rings, the plot type would be The Quest,
In my opinion, the Character is more important than the Plot, simply because in this film, the Characters decisions help to write the Plot and make it what it is.

In King Lear, the Plot type would be classified as a Tragedy. The plot has sub-plots, which come alive at the end and the most of the characters get what they deserved.

Creative Writing

In the dim light, the dust motes are floating around carefree. I see the dim light reflecting off a painted black surface, giving off a soft sheen. This fruity scent comes before me. It’s exotic and I feel compelled to find it.
I looked around to find the darkness trying to invade my sense of tranquillity. I feel comfortable in this vast white wonderland.
Mountains seem to loom before me and block my path of sight. They are colourful and they seem to disappear and re-appear in a different form.
I hear movement to my left. Then I find myself falling sideways. I am lifted high into the air. I feel like I am flying! I feel free! I feel like nothing can stop me! The air tastes different from up here! It’s sweet and so clean and fresh.
This feeling of euphoria lasts a minute. As I am hurtling towards the mountains I think about how great the white wonderland is! I prepare myself for impact. The landing wasn’t as bad as I thought! The mountains have gone and I am lying on my side.
But yet my mind is still reeling in the fact that I was flying through, what it seems like, time and space. I hear what seems like a pleasant melody from my left.
The white vast wonderland is shrouded by the darkness and I can’t seem to find my way. After what seems like an eternity, my eyes adjust. The mountains seem foreboding. And I am unwilling to look at them. The darkness creeps around me, like an impending doom waiting to happen. I try to close my unwilling eyes.
I hear a faint tapping sound. I dare not think what it could be. For if I think, I may lose my sanity. The coldness soon catches up with me. I do not think I will make it….
